Starting this month we’ll send out our newsletter on the new moon. It’s a good marker especially for those of us who try to do too many things. Launch it.

Despite the inflammatory status of these earthly bodies that are constantly in maintenance mode, some may be thinking about the possibility of quitting our jobs (if we have one) ahead of the AI AI OH onslaught of robotic match making.

Many of us may be thinking about new existences. How will we be when the whole shebang goes asunder? Will we have the fortitude to measure ourselves against nothing? Feeling the right to exist without someone to tell you you’re good because someone else said so? The tricky trickle.

We’re grateful to be breathing in and out even though we know all the ways in which people are shut out, shut down and forgotten. Let’s not even begin to think about all that luxury housing being built that no one can afford.

What about thinking of ways of existing that are non-metric/non-measurable? Say, a puff of smoke. Or, as Thich Naht Hanh would remind us, “a cloud never dies.” After all, is anything truly measurable?

Matthew Rose’s book, Another Day is now out.

ANOTHER DAY is another book by Matthew Rose. A story about curious days, lost words, found images and the mysterious fog of it all, an odd text recounts the hero’s time living out his life.

Some 200 collage works and drawings accompany the text, offering a window on the narrator’s tale of days.

Begun in 2024, ANOTHER DAY was published in the Spring of 2026. The texts were written in the dead of winter of 2025.

Matthew Rose is an artist and writer living and working in Paris, France
