A book and catalog accompanies the exhibition. The full-color, 112-page book, features some 100 collage pieces crafted on canvas, book covers, museum board as well as some very unusual objects. 

Natural Causes includes texts about the author’s unique and painful point of view about birth, death, sex, dreams, the afterlife and everything in between as well as some raw and odd observations about consciousness, flight, Vespas, tequila, inheritance, anxiety, old friends and of course poverty, gold teeth and a handful of bad bible jokes. "It’s a scream,” says Matthew Rose.

Matthew Rose is an American artist living and working in Paris, France. He created and launched the global mail art collective and phenomenon "A Book About Death” in 2010 at the Emily Harvey Foundation in New York; the exhibition has had some 31 editions, notably at the Karuizawa New Art Museum in Japan (expo number 30) where the artist also exhibited “Weekend Plans” a formidable body of collage works on canvas and paper, as well as a range of surreal and outrageous objects and texts. 

The artist is the author of a half dozen books (Coronaville, Wait There’s More!, Larry Gagosian & Me, Animal Farmy, Home From India, People, The Self Improvement Alphabet Book and most recently, Liancourt Confessions). He has a BA in Linguistics and Semiotics from Brown University.  He is the editor of Trouble, an occasional art revue, has long written for newspapers and magazines (The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Art & Antiques, Modern Painters, The Art Blog and others), and is an advisory board member of the Emily Harvey Foundation (New York City/Venice).
